Dear dad

Dad,

Do you remember the promise you made to the 11-year-old girl begging you to quit smoking?

You told her you would, on your 39th birthday.

Dad,

Do you remember the promise you made to the 12-year-old girl begging you to quit smoking?

You told her you would, on your 40th birthday.

Dad,

Do you remember the promise you made to the 13-year-old girl begging you to quit smoking?

You told her you would, on your 41st birthday.

Well she stopped begging that year.

  1. What Happens to Us says:

I asked my father to quit smoking when I was 12. He didn’t. When I was 33, he died of it. Sometimes, I tell that to young kids I see smoking in front of convenience stores and on the street. I hope it makes them uncomfortable. I hope it does some good. I miss my Dad.

I’m sorry to hear that. My dads still smoking and alive. I don’t beg anymore but sometimes i’ll say something out of anger. It is terrible to see so many youth smoking these days 😦
